A short guide draining your YETI, RTIC, ORCA, or other rotomolded cooler without moving it.
Guide/Parts Compatibility:
While the parts listed worked for my RTIC65 and friends Yeti110, I cannot guarantee that your cooler has the same drain. Most likely it does.

Time Required:
- 0.25hrs
Complexity:
- 1/10
- Contributing Factors:
- Metal on plastic threads (cross-threading or stripping potential).
Parts Needed:
- Drain Plug Hose Connection for YETI/RTIC
- Brass Garden Hose Shutoff
- 3′ Leader Hose (I’ve been really impressed with Flexzilla hoses !)
Tools Used:
- Fingers
Step1: Remove existing Drain Plug
Unscrew the drain plug in your cooler, just like you were draining the cooler. It should remove completely, leaving behind a threaded hose.
Step2: Install Drain Plug Hose Connection
Screw in the Drain Plug Hose Connection and ensure it has a tight seal, but do not overtighten it as it can crack.
Step3: Install brass shutoff valve
Install Brass Garden Hose Shutoff securely but do not overtighten as the brass can strip the plastic threads.
Step4: Install leader hose for Ops Check
I recommend completely installing every part of a system prior to checking operation, and this is no different.
Step5: OpsCheck
Fill the cooler up past the drain hose and monitor for leaks. I found none after an hour and was satisfied.
